Registry cleanup

Any recommendations for Registry Cleanup software?  Free or pay?  Your experience please.

JB

I'd have nothing to do with registry cleanup software, there are too many crooks out there who would love to get into your registry, and anyway the reviews I have read of the respectable versions suggest that it achieves very little, and might do a lot of damage. It's like setting someone you don't know loose on your household plumbing - the stakes are too high.

When a computer is really mucking about, and is failing in it's basic duties, my view is that the only safe solution is a full re-format, which sets it up as if it were new.  However, it's not for the faint hearted, and you will lose everything that is on it (software and data), so not to be undertaken lightly.  But it will sort out any problems.
